Great Aussie Bush Camp Expands Footprint with Acquisition of Camp Wombaroo in Southern Highlands

The Great Aussie Bush Camp (GABC) has today announced the acquisition of the assets of Camp Wombaroo from the Outdoor Education Group (OEG) for an undisclosed amount.

The purchase marks a significant milestone for GABC, expanding its portfolio from three to four sites across New South Wales and cementing its position as the state’s largest* residential school camp operator.

Located in the Southern Highlands, Camp Wombaroo is GABC’s first site in the region, providing capacity for approximately 150 campers. The new location extends the organisation’s reach from Sydney through to the ACT, enabling GABC to better serve schools and students across these areas.

For decades, The Great Aussie Bush Camp has been a staple of the school camp experience for children across NSW. With existing locations in Tea Gardens, Kincumber, and Lake Macquarie, GABC welcomes more than 65,000 campers each year. The camps are renowned for their unique Aussie outdoor education programs and the largest range of adventure activities in the country, including high ropes, abseiling, canoeing, bushcraft, and more.
