Set in the majestic hills of South Gippsland, Camp Rumbug stretches across 200 acres of stunning temperate rainforest. Just two hours from Melbourne’s CBD and overlooking Wilsons Promontory National Park, camp feels a world away from everyday life, offering groups the chance to switch off, reconnect with each other and dive into adventure.
Hidden throughout the hills and forest, activities wait around every corner. Students can climb, or fly high, for a bird’s-eye view over the treetops, splash about on the lakes, or launch straight off the hillside on the flying fox. Every activity delivers challenges that excite, inspire and build confidence.
Camp life centres around purpose-built lodges and welcoming communal spaces, making it easy for groups to move smoothly between activities, meals and downtime. Surrounded by rainforest, lakes and open activity areas, Camp Rumbug offers a true escape from the everyday and space to reconnect with each other. It is a place where students test their resilience, build teamwork and share unforgettable moments in one of Victoria’s most beautiful outdoor settings.
PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
Every camp at Rumbug is designed around your group’s goals, whether that is building resilience, independence, leadership or strong connections. Our hands-on adventure programs encourage students to challenge themselves, support one another and celebrate every win along the way.
Adventure flows naturally through the rainforest setting, with activities tucked throughout the hills, trees and lakes. Students can take the leap on the giant swing with sweeping mountain views, climb high into the trees for a koala’s-eye view of the forest, or work together on the water with canoeing and raft-building on our private, tree-lined lakes.
For those who love to get stuck in, forest obstacle courses and muddy challenges deliver plenty of laughs while building teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. With such a wide variety of experiences on offer, every student has the chance to step up, try something new and shine.
Planetree Lodge
Planetree Lodge is a comfortable, lodge-style accommodation nestled among the bushland, with mountain views creating a calm and welcoming setting. Designed to keep groups together, it provides an easy, connected camp experience where groups can relax and recharge between adventures.
All rooms feature ensuite bathrooms for comfort and accessibility, making it a practical option for a wide range of group needs. With everyone staying under one roof, Planetree Lodge helps create a strong sense of community throughout camp.

Blackwood Lodge
Blackwood Lodge offers warm, bunk-style accommodation designed to keep groups comfortable and connected throughout their stay. Rooms include a mix of ensuite options and shared bathrooms, all located under the same roof for convenience. A dedicated teachers / leaders’ lounge gives groups a comfortable space to relax, plan and recharge, making Blackwood Lodge a popular choice for group leaders.

Dining – food and dietaries
At The Great Aussie Bush Camp, we serve fresh, tasty and nutritious meals every day to fuel big adventures. Our food supports healthy activity in the outdoors and encourages well balanced eating, with a range of meals that are both nourishing and appealing to children’s palates.
We provide three meals every day, always including a vegetarian option, with generous portions of fruit, vegetables and salad, and plenty of carbohydrate for energy. Our lunch and dinner options always include a salad bar, where students can have unlimited access to fill up on nutritious goodies!
We take dietary needs seriously, catering to coeliac, vegetarian, halal, lactose intolerance, and severe allergies. If you have specific dietary requirements, please coordinate with your school or give us a call to discuss the options.
