Around one hour north of Sydney you’ll find our Lake Macquarie camp tucked away on the shores of Dora and Stockton creek. Boasting expansive open spaces and riverfronts that wrap around camp, it’s a charming site with lots to explore.
Activities are spread throughout the lush bushland surrounding the camp, where you can rise above the treetops on the Power Fan, or zip through the bush on the Flying Fox. Despite being our smallest camp, Lake Mac’s sprawling spaces can sometimes make it feel like your school has the whole bush to itself. Its prime location and flexible layout give teachers endless options to create tailor-made learning experiences that hit both curriculum goals and adventure highs.
With all the accommodations and amenities located at the camp’s heart, you won’t have to trek far for meals or showers, ensuring a hassle-free camp experience. Lake Mac boasts an impressive 30 action-packed activities across the sprawling 40-acre property giving you lots of opportunities to test your bush skills and bravery.
PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
At Lake Mac we tailor our programs to meet your specific outcome objective, whether that be curriculum focussed, personal growth or team development. We love to pack in adventure and fun, so our days are always brimming with activities. From the giant swing to archery and an epic flying fox, there’s always something to do at Lake Mac.
For the adventure activities, we’ve designed our high ropes courses to be age-appropriate featuring thrilling flying fox finishes. And if you prefer your challenges to be a little closer to the ground, we’ve got you covered with fencing and low ropes. Just because they’re not high in altitude doesn’t mean they’re not high in adventure and adrenalin.

WINGS
Our wings offer dormitory-style accommodation with separate amenity blocks conveniently located next to the building. Set on a grass lawn overlooking the bush, our wings contain bunk beds with mattresses and protectors for a comfortable stay. Our wings feature:

DORMITORIES
Lake Mac offers dormitory-style rooms designed for a comfortable stay. Our dormitories contain separate male and female toilets and showers, all located conveniently in the same building. This thoughtful design keeps everyone close, with teacher/leader accommodation close by, and easy access to our kitchen and dining areas for a seamless group experience. Our dorms feature:

TEACHER / LEADER
Our teachers’/Leader’s dorm is tucked away on the west side of the building, separate from the camper’s dorms and wings, and surrounded by peaceful bushland. Rooms contain variations of bunks and double beds. Female and male toilets and showers are located within the building for convenience. The dorm also includes a cosy common room for up to 18 people, complete with lounge seating, a large TV, and kitchenette perfect for unwinding after a big day.

DINING – FOOD AND DIETARIES
At The Great Aussie Bush Camp, we serve fresh, tasty, and nutritious meals daily to keep you energised for all your adventures.
Our menu covers a wide range of tastes, offering meals like hamburgers, spaghetti Bolognese, and BBQs with sausages and salad. Breakfast serves up hot and cold options, from pancakes and scrambled eggs to spaghetti and cereals. Fresh fruit and drinks are always on hand to keep you fuelled and hydrated.
We take dietary needs seriously, catering to coeliac, vegetarian, halal, lactose intolerance, and severe allergies. If you have specific dietary requirements, please coordinate with your school or give us a call to discuss the options.
